Okay, for anyone who knew me last year, I participated in National Novel Writing Month and beat the shit out of it when I wrote a 200,000 word novel (200,000 looks so much more impressive than 200K). It should be no surprise that I will be once again accepting the challenge to triumph over its 50K finish line again this November, which is about 10 days from now.
Not that anyone noticed, but I decided to remove my newer story "Memento Mori" because, well... I wasn't exactly satisfied with the direction it was going. So, I've decided to delete what I have, continue outlining characters and plot, and start over come November. This next month will be hectic to juggle an entire novel on top of my homework as things already stand, but I think I can do it. Sorry to anyone that actually bothered reading it in the first place.
I guess regarding Memento Mori, a title that I'll probably change later because it's a latin term and I've decided to name a chapter or two after latin phrases (Tabula Rasa (blank slate, or a young mind not yet affected by experience), Compos Mentis (In control of the mind), and possibly Memento Mori (Remember you are mortal, etc.)). I'm not sure what I'll name the story in place of Memento Mori, but I'll post a notice as soon as I do. I guess to give everyone (or rather anyone who wastes their time reading this story). Here's kind of a blurb I wrote for it so that I had an idea of just what the story's supposed to be about:
"Meet Sydney Burdon. She saw roses as red, violets as blue, and, most importantly, she saw more to me and you. Her gifted eyes show her Shadows, wicked creatures born of neglect and repression that humans carry with them. This curse allows, or forces, her to mimic the dark traits of Shadows, which later grants her amazing abilities. However, Sydney often faces the same neglect and hatred as if she were a Shadow herself. After eighteen years of bearing this burden, her journey will take shape. Will she be able to use the Shadows to defend herself, as well as her friends? Or will the Shadows use her to vanquish humanity?"
So that's your blurb for now. Vague, with just enough substance to either turn you off or make you want even more. So yeah...
Lates peeps.
P.S. I challenge everyone who reads this to take on NaNoWriMo this year with me! It'll be fun
